Hello! I’m DeLonna

My approach is empathetic and compassionate, ensuring that clients feel heard and understood. I aim to build a trusting relationship, where each individual can explore their challenges at their own pace while feeling respected and empowered. I am trained in a broad range of treatment modalities and interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Trauma, Individual Trauma (for both children and adults), Adjustment Therapy, Relationship Therapy, Family Conflict Therapy, LGBTQ+ Therapy, Polyamory Therapy, and Crisis Intervention. I offer a range of services, including individual therapy for teens, young adults, and adults, as well as couples and family therapy. My specialties include childhood trauma, adolescent and young adult adjustments, adult transitions, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, occupational stress, grief and loss, family relationship conflicts, LGBTQ+ therapy, and blended family therapy, among others. In my sessions, I create a calm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment where clients can feel safe and supported. My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and active listening, helping clients feel truly heard and understood. Working with me feels collaborative and empowering, as we work together to explore challenges and develop solutions at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I aim to provide a space where clients can open up, gain insights, and make meaningful progress toward their goals with a sense of encouragement and understanding throughout the process.

What attracted me to a career as a therapist is a deep passion for helping others navigate their challenges and find healing and growth. From a young age, I was always drawn to listening to people’s stories and offering support, which naturally led me to pursue a career where I could make a positive difference in others’ lives. I found that the ability to create a safe, supportive space for people to process their emotions and work through difficulties was incredibly fulfilling. What drives me to continue this work is the profound impact therapy can have on a person’s life. Witnessing clients develop new insights, build resilience, and make meaningful progress is incredibly rewarding. I am driven by the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life, and I am committed to being a part of that journey with each client. The work itself is a privilege, and the ability to help someone transform their challenges into strengths keeps me motivated every day.

When it comes to goal setting, I take a collaborative and client-centered approach. I believe that goals should be meaningful and tailored to each individual’s unique needs and circumstances. In our sessions, we’ll start by exploring what’s most important to you, whether it’s overcoming a specific challenge, improving well-being, or navigating life transitions. Together, we’ll break down these larger goals into smaller, manageable steps that feel achievable. I make sure that the goals are realistic, specific, and measurable, so progress can be tracked. I also encourage flexibility—sometimes goals evolve as we work together, and that’s perfectly okay. Throughout the process, I provide support and feedback to help you stay motivated and adjust the plan as needed. The overall goal is to create a sense of empowerment, ensuring that each step forward is a positive move toward your greater well-being and personal growth. During your first session with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and relaxed environment where I will take the time to get to know you and understand your unique concerns. The focus will be on creating a comfortable space where you feel safe to share and be heard. We’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any challenges you’re currently facing. I’ll also explain the therapy process, the approach I use, and answer any questions you may have about how we can work together. The first session is a time for us to build rapport and establish trust, and it’s also a chance for you to get a sense of how I work. By the end of the session, we’ll begin to outline the next steps and set a direction for our work together. Ultimately, the first session is about laying the foundation for a productive and supportive therapeutic relationship. You can expect to leave feeling understood, with a clearer sense of how we can move forward together.
