Meet our Team
Tyeshia Robinson, LCMHC
Hello! I’m Tyeshia
I am so glad you’re here! Taking this first step is meaningful, and I am honored you are considering me to support you. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision. I hold a Professional Educator’s License in School Counseling, and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
I have had the opportunity to work closely with individuals and families, supporting their growth through different life transitions. My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, college students, adults, and their families. In my role as a school counselor, I have collaborated closely with educators, staff, and parents to support students’ academic, social, and emotional needs. Additionally, I work with clients who are navigating depression, grief, anxiety, adjustment disorder, and ADHD. I am committed to practicing with cultural awareness and sensitivity, and I value learning from each client I serve. I strive to provide a voice for individuals who may feel unheard and to create space where their experiences are validated and respected.
My counseling approach is grounded in client-centered, humanistic theory, which emphasizes unconditional acceptance and encourages clients to express themselves freely. I believe that clients are the experts on their own experiences. I also use motivational interviewing, a collaborative approach that helps clients work through uncertainty, build motivation, and take ownership of their growth. I believe everyone has the capacity to reach their full potential and to gain insight into the feelings that influence their behaviors. My role is to help clients deepen their self-awareness and move toward that potential.
Sessions may include therapeutic homework, reflection on previous discussions, periodic check-ins to ensure I am fully understanding each client’s perspective, and end-of-session summaries to reinforce that clients feel heard, valued, and understood. Above all, I aim to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves while working toward their goals.
Your story matters and I would be honored to help you explore, understand, and rewrite the chapters ahead.
Whether your child is struggling to manage big emotions at school, your teenager is feeling weighed down by anxiety, or you are an adult trying to find your footing amidst life, you do not have to carry it by yourself. We will work together using practical tools that match your specific goals. For adults and teens, I use frameworks that help you gently reframe difficult thoughts, manage stress, and take real steps toward the growth you want to see.
For younger kids, I use play and creative arts. This gives them a natural, comfortable way to share their feelings, heal, and express themselves without the pressure of a traditional “sit-and-talk” session. Taking the first step toward therapy requires immense courage. No matter what challenges you or your family are facing, I am here to walk alongside you exactly as you are.
